How to use Arguox Capture

01. Getting started

The app opens to the camera

Arguox opens straight to the camera. There's no account to create and no setup to get through first. Right after launch, the shutter is dimmed with a small spinner while the app gathers your location, time and device details. Once that first set is ready, the shutter turns solid and you can shoot. This way a photo never goes out with an empty overlay.

Allow location access when asked if you want GPS coordinates and the street address on your photos. If you say no, the app still works and those two fields are left off.

02. Taking photos

Framing, focus and aspect ratio

The viewfinder has a rule-of-thirds grid, and you tap anywhere to focus. The ratio bar switches between square (1:1), the sensor's native 4:3 and a 9:16 portrait crop. The portrait option is labelled 16:9, the way most phone cameras label it. Whatever you see in the frame is what gets saved. The same bar has the flash and the front/back camera switch.

By default there's one shutter button, Capture. Switch to Dual mode in Settings to get separate IN and OUT buttons, each posting to its own endpoint. That's useful for attendance and delivery logs.

03. Single or dual mode

One button, or an IN / OUT pair

You pick the button mode under API Config in Settings. In Single mode every capture has the same action type. Dual mode replaces the shutter with two buttons, IN for arriving and OUT for leaving, and each one can post to a different endpoint.

04. Overlay and logo

Position, size, opacity and your logo

The Overlay section in Settings sets which corner the text sits in, the font size, and an opacity that applies to the whole overlay. The Logo section takes a PNG logo, which the app checks by reading the file header, and lets you size it from 10 to 100%. The logo sits in the same block as your text, at the end furthest from the edge of the photo, so the two never overlap.

Add your own text lines, like a job number, supervisor or site name. They show above the other details.

Location, Date & Time and Device Info each have their own switch. Anything you turn off won't print on the photo.

05. API and upload queue

Send captures to your own endpoint

Paste your HTTPS endpoint under API Config in Settings. It can be your own server, a webhook, or a free Google Apps Script that saves each photo to Drive and logs a row in Sheets without a server. After you take a photo, tap Upload on the preview to send it. Failed uploads retry on their own once you're back online.

The JSON payload has the action, timestamp, GPS, address, device info and the image itself.

06. Working offline

What happens when you lose signal

The free version needs a connection to load its ad. If you go offline without Remove Ads, the app shows a "no internet" screen until you reconnect. Remove Ads drops that requirement, and from then on the whole app works offline.

Offline, taking a photo and saving it to the gallery work as usual. GPS and the street address are left off the overlay and the payload, and the time still comes from the phone's clock. If you tap Upload, the photo waits in the queue and goes out when you reconnect.

07. Remove Ads

A one-time purchase

Remove Ads is a one-time purchase through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS. You'll find it at the top of Settings.

• To buy it, tap Remove Ads in Settings and confirm in Google Play or the App Store
• To get it back on a new phone, tap Restore purchases in Settings
• Refunds go through Google Play or Apple, since Arguox doesn't handle payments
• The ads stop and the internet requirement goes away as soon as you buy. Every capture and overlay feature was already in the free version.
