Privacy Policy

Short version: Arguox does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on Arguox servers. All data stays on your device. The only data that leaves your device is what you explicitly configure the app to POST to your own endpoint.

1. Who We Are

Arguox is a mobile application developed for Android and iOS. The app is designed to capture photos with embedded metadata overlays and optionally post that data to a user-configured API endpoint.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

Arguox does not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in.
  • Transmit any data to Arguox servers.
  • Store your photos, location, or metadata anywhere outside your device.
  • Track your usage or behavior within the app.
  • Share your data with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

Arguox stores the following data on your device:

  • App settings — configured metadata fields, overlay preferences, API endpoint URLs, button mode, font size, opacity, and premium status.
  • Capture logs — photo file paths on your device, metadata snapshots, timestamps, upload status, and action type.
  • Upload queue — pending API payloads (including image data) that could not be delivered while offline, plus retry counts and status.

This data never leaves your device except when you initiate an upload to your own configured endpoint. You can clear all app data at any time through your device's app settings.

4. Data You Choose to Send

When you configure an API endpoint and capture a photo, Arguox sends a JSON payload to that URL. The payload may include GPS coordinates, reverse-geocoded address, timestamp, device info, camera state, custom text lines, and the captured image as Base64.

You control which fields are included via Settings → Metadata. You are solely responsible for the privacy and security of the endpoint you configure and the data sent to it. Arguox has no visibility into or control over that endpoint.

If you use a Google Apps Script URL as your endpoint, your captures (including photos and metadata) are sent to Google's servers and may be saved to Google Drive and Google Sheets under your Google account. In that case, Google's Privacy Policy governs how that data is stored and processed — Arguox has no access to or control over your Google account data.

5. Third-Party Services

Arguox uses the following third-party services, each operating under their own privacy policies:

OpenStreetMap Nominatim (reverse geocoding)

When online and location is enabled, Arguox sends your GPS coordinates to the Nominatim API to retrieve a street address. No personal identifier is sent — only latitude and longitude.

Google AdMob (advertising)

If you have not purchased the Remove Ads option, Arguox displays banner ads powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can remove all ads with a one-time purchase. The free version requires an active internet connection to load ads.

Google Play / Apple App Store (in-app purchases)

The "Remove Ads" purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Arguox does not process or store payment information.

Google Apps Script / Drive / Sheets (user-configured endpoint)

If you configure a Google Apps Script URL as your endpoint, Arguox sends your captures directly to that script. The script may save photos to Google Drive and log metadata to Google Sheets under your own Google account. This data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Arguox has no access to your Google account and does not receive copies of this data.

6. Permissions

Arguox requests the following device permissions:

  • Camera — to capture photos.
  • Location (when in use) — to embed GPS coordinates. Only requested when Location is enabled in Settings. Never collected in the background.
  • Photo Library / Storage — to save captured photos to your device gallery.
  • Internet — to perform reverse geocoding and to POST to your configured endpoint. Required at all times on the free plan (ads are served online); optional on the paid plan (Remove Ads users can capture and queue uploads offline).

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Arguox is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us at support.arguox@juanlobby.com.

8. Data Retention

All data is stored only on your device and retained until you delete the app or clear its data. Arguox has no ability to delete data on your behalf as we do not have access to it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where required by law, we will notify you within the app.
